City of the Gods

Teotihuacan (Tay-Oh-T-Wak-on) contains some of the largest pyramidal structures built in the pre-Colombian Americas. Teotihuacan means "City of the Gods" or "Birthplace of the Gods"!! I am not going to write about all of the history of the site because I could probably write 2 pages about it, but if you are interested in learning more than go to the following site!!! http://archaeology.asu.edu/teo/. It is a very interesting site that explains the history of the pyramids and other structures.  @Pat Smith- You will really like this site!! It has a lot of cool information about the pyramids and ancient culture. We climbed the pyramid of the sun which was the tallest pyramid there (standing 63 meters tall)!!! Our guide was telling us about how people think they can gain power or restore health by standing on top, in the middle, of the pyramid and saying a little prayer to God while reaching up to the heavens! There were also hundreds of merchants selling their goods all around the site. I bartered with one of the merchants for 5 minutes. He had these awesome shot glasses that he wanted 70 pesos for and after a long heated debate and me walking away and him chasing after me several times, I was able to get 2 shot glasses for 80 pesos!! I think I might have a future in bartering. Jaja We were given a three hour tour all around the site and after the tour was finished, both my brain and my body were fried!!!
