My class schedule consists of a movie (cine) and literature class from 8-10AM and a Mexican culture class that was 1-3 but recently got switched to 11-1. The cine class consists of watching movies almost every day, reading a book and discussing philosophical questions about life. (Such as- What is life? What is reality? How can we achieve peace?)  In the class there are 33 native speakers and then Becky, BreAnne, and myself. (They are some of my good friends in the International program) The class is a little bit of a challenge because the speed at which the students speak is incredibly fast and it is hard to get accustomed to all the different dialects. My other class consists of Becky, BreAnne, Brett (my roomie) and myself. This class is very padre (slang for cool) and I look forward to this class everyday because the teacher is amazing. We cover the history and culture of Mexico in an interesting way, and whenever we have a question about anything, he doesn’t mind answering it, no matter how off topic it is. Also everyday in this class we bring in a new word that we heard and then we share it with everyone. Let’s just say I know a lot of Mexican slang and I have a full vocabulary ranging from foods to palabrotas (cuss words). Every Friday in this class we take a field trip to somewhere in Queretaro. On the first Friday, we took a trip to the local pyramid. It was awesome getting to learn about how the pyramid was built and the culture of the people that lived there. The second trip we took consisted of going to the centro (downtown) and getting a tour by his other class for their final!! The other class was 9 girls from Quebec, Canada all around the age of 21 ;). Jaja but they took us to a couple historic sites and explained the history of some of the different parts of the centro. I am also participating in a Salsa class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-7:30. The class has about 30 people in it and we are pretty much dancing the entire hour and a half. Just be ready for me to come back an expert at salsa!
